Acupuncture in San Diego

Acupuncture is a part of Chinese Medicine consisting of the methodical placement of thin needles at specific points and depths on the body. Acupuncture is a holistic practice based on ancient Chinese philosophical principles.

How Does Acupuncture Work?

Acupuncture stimulates the nervous system. When the needle is inserted, this creates micro-trauma from the needles to stimulate your body's immune system to promote healing. The local response sends signals to your brain to release pain moderating chemicals (endorphins and enkephalins). Acupuncture increases circulation, blood flowing to the area, which supplies oxygen, hormones, nutrients, and chemicals to promote the healing process. During your treatment, Acupuncture will help you stop pain, reduce inflammation, relieve stress and anxiety, promote homeostasis in your body.

Acupuncture Points
Traditional acupuncture began with 365 points: one for every day of the year. However, as acupuncturists have discovered more points, this number has grown. Despite advances in modern acupuncture, most acupuncturists reference
the traditional points. There are different styles of acupuncture and Dr. Lee took discipline in learning the most effective ones to craft your treatment.

Dr. Lee’s acupuncture sessions begin with an analysis of your needs, as each point is associated with a list of disorders, diseases, and discomforts.

Acupuncture Cost
